Kaitlyn Kitzan is a dedicated business development professional with a deep-rooted connection to agriculture.
Growing up on a mixed farm in outside of Yorkton, she remains actively involved in her family's grain and cattle farming operations.
Kaitlyn completed her Bachelor of Science in Agri-business at the University of Saskatchewan, College of Agriculture and Bio-resources. Kaitlyn served as a Student Ambassador for the College of Agriculture and Bio-resources and Workhorse Hub throughout university. During her summers, she gained valuable experience at the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture working out of the Yorkton regional office.
Building on her experiences, Kaitlyn joined Glacier FarmMedia, where she excelled as a marketing and communications coordinator. She later expanded her expertise by working with Discovery Farm, Home of Ag in Motion, and Canada's Outdoor Farm Show, taking on the role of Business Development and Operations Specialist. Kaitlyn led business development, strategic initiatives, business planning, and oversaw financial performance of the business unit.
Eager to embrace new opportunities, in the summer of 2023, she embarked on her own business venture, providing strategic solutions to organizations. Through her diverse experiences and entrepreneurial spirit, Kaitlyn has continually demonstrated her passion for driving growth and fostering innovation.
Kaitlyn has been extensively involved in her community, demonstrating a strong commitment to making a difference. She dedicated her time to organizations such as the Yorkton Exhibition Association, Ag in the Classroom, and the Elias Giannoulis Memorial Hockey Tournament for Mental Health.
Kaitlyn's passion for community engagement extended to her involvement in various leadership positions. She currently serves as the Director and Treasurer on the Wheat Growers Association and holds the role of Saskatchewan Chair for Equal Voice. Previously, she served as a Director on the Saskatchewan Young Ag Board. Driven by her desire to empower young girls, Kaitlyn co-founded Sask Girls United and served as the Strategic Development Director.
Kaitlyn's dedication to promoting Canadian agriculture has taken her to international platforms. She represented Canadian agriculture in China and Peru during Junior Team Canada Trade Missions, focusing on free trade for Canadian agricultural products. She also participated in the World Food Prize event in Des Moines, Iowa, where she showcased Canadian agriculture. Additionally, she embarked on transformative journeys to Ecuador and El Salvador, exploring global citizenship and engaging in impactful experiences. Kaitlyn's passion for food security led her to join the Canadian Foodgrains Bank on a Food Security Learning Tour to India.
Recognizing her outstanding contributions, Kaitlyn was nominated for the Young Women of Distinction award in Saskatchewan.
Whether she's working on the family farm, volunteering in the community, or advocating for agriculture, Kaitlyn continues to make a positive impact through her dedication and leadership.
